I'll tell you what, I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote yesterday's entry. I guess I was so pleased to have another one of Tallulah's photos that Ijust flat out forgot to include links for all of the things I was yammering on about. I know, you're perfectly capable of looking them up for yourself, but, well, isn't it just too wonderful when someone does it for you?!
Okay, here goes:

I hope you had a safe and pleasant 4th of July weekend. The weather here was absolutely wonderful. Actually, it was Goldilocks and the 3 Bears kind of weather--not too hot, not too cold, just right (smile).
I can't say the same for today. It's getting hotter and more humid as the day goes on. And if I think today is unpleasant, tomorrow is supposed to be even more so.
Now up in Marquette, Michigan where my good friend Tallulah lives, the weather is very cool today. I spoke to her around noon-ish and she said it was sunny, maybe 63, windy and, from where she was parked along the shores of Lake Superior, not only was no one swimming, but no one was walking on the beach either.
She was up at the break of dawn today; armed with her digital camera, and she sent me this photo, which I want to share with you. Isn't it pretty? Sunrise over Lake Superior with swarms of birds circling overhead.

Have you had a chance to get to the lake, any lake, yet this summer? I haven't, but I am ever hopeful. All I need is the winning lottery ticket and then my bags will be packed and I'll be heading out!
I'd like to spend about a week over in Ludington, MI, basking on the beach along side of Lake Michigan. That's my favorite place to go.
Then I'd like to take two weeks and head to the Upper Peninsula. I want to spend a few days lounging in a waterfront hotel on the shores of Lake Huron. And I want to sit on one of the benches that are almost underneath the Mackinac Bridge and dangle my feet in the Straits of
Mackinac. I did that once and it was big fun.
Next it's Munising. I want to see the Pictured Rocks. I've only seen them in photos and they're breathtaking. I bet they're even more magnificent in person.
From there it would be on to Marquette. I want to see Tallulah's new house, and I want to check out all of the peculiar-to- Marquette stores and restaurants. And if Marquette Prison still has the prisoner handicraft store out front, I want to stop in because that's the place to purchase incredibly well made leather goods (and other things) at phenomenally low prices.
I want to go to the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula (in the UP). I was up that way once many years ago and would like to see the sights again.
On the way home, a stop in Sault Ste Marie to see the Soo Locks, then back downstate. My last stop before home would be Birch Run, the huge outlet mall, because, well, can you ever do too much shopping (smile)?!
Now all I have to do is either win the lottery or get to the casino and hit big on the slot machine and I'm outta here!
Realistically, well, day dreaming is fun and since odds are good I'm not going to win the lottery or even make it to the casino, with gas prices in the $4 a gallon range I just might do a day dream vacation this year and consider myself fortunate.
Be good and be careful, take care, stay strong.
