So whoever would have thought it would take me over a week to get back to you? Not me, that's for sure.
The week after the festival (last week) I was all prepared to snag a computer at the library and get comfy with you, and then--surprise! I got bit by a spider on my leg, right where the foot connects to the leg bone. Doesn't sound like much, I know, but it was. It got bright red and hot to the touch, and then I got a lump/bump at the site of the bite, and then, as if it wasn't already bad enough, my foot swelled up. Needless to say, I was hobbling around and a drive to the library was out of the question. My shoe, even though it's a Birkenstock sandal, wouldn't go on comfortably. Then a couple of days later I was going to make a corned beef sandwich and, don't you know, dropped the doggone bottle of Thousand Island dressing right on top of my good foot! That foot turned black and blue and swelled up. So that had me with two bags of frozen peas, one on each foot, as I sat in my recliner and bemoaned my fate (smile).
On the upside, when you can't leave the house--at least when I can't leave the house--I turned to the internet (my webtv/msntv unit) and ordered an incredible cd by John McCutcheon, This Fire. I wish I had the web address for you but my guess is you know how to google (smile). The cd is incredible. My favorite track is Forgive Us.
Have you seen the movie, Black Snake Moan? I rented it and loved it. Look past the fact that Justin Timberlake is in it, okay? It's an exciting movie. I wish I could tell you the male star but I must be low on B vitamins because I just can't call his name. He's Black, in his mid-50's and stars in lots of good movies. My Uncle David calls him the hardest working man in Hollywood. I can see his face in my head, darn it. Well, rent the movie, you'll like it and then you can remind me what his name is (smile).
Okay, that's it for today. There's a line waiting for the computers and I have to go.
You take care and give me a call, why don't you. I love talking with you.

Okay, here we go again! I'm back at the library and armed with a "cheat sheet" that a friend of mine helped me put together. So far so good.
Okay, I know for everyone reading this it's no big deal to use a computer. But me, I'm new to this. I've been using a webtv (newly called msntv) for ten years. A webtv is an internet access appliance. You can send and receive email and surf the web--all the things I've heretofore been interested in. I used to be able to post my blog entries from webtv and then google (?) went and messed with it and now it is incompatible with webtv. So here I am.
Anyway, silly question maybe, but do you have a problem with dry hair? I do. I'm always looking for some kind of treatment or conditioner to help. The other day I stumbled on a conditioner called Biotera, or maybe it has two r's, not sure. It's pricey, like $8 a bottle, but it is so good. I found it at Sally's Beauty Supply store. I'm using it every other day and the results are amazing.
This will probably be the last time I can write you until Monday. Why? Because the annual Farmington Founders Festival is getting ready to kick off tomorrow and getting anywhere near the library is going to be a lesson in futility. Okay, yes, there is a library at the other end of the town that's out of the way of the Festival, but--that library is nearly impossible to snag a computer at. All the students, etc. are on them constantly and it's almost a case of nepotism to worm your way in there.
As a matter of fact, I think I was lucky to get in this library this morning. The city is setting up all of the boothes and rides and stuff already and parking space in town is limited. I'm hoping to be able to get to the post office to pick up your mail when I finish here because that too will be impossible to access until Monday.
Oh well, it was great fun chatting with you! Take care and give a call, I love hearing from you.

Okay, I realize it's been about a month of Sundays since I've written anything. Why? Because I ran out of words. Laugh if you want to but that's the absolute truth. Between talking my fool head off on the phone to you, talking as I need to in 'real life', well, sometimes I just run out of words.
But today, wow! have I got something to share.
If you will recall, I always use a webtv/msntv (internet access appliance) to do my stuff on the internet. I've been doing it like that for at least ten years. Some time ago this blogger site, in cohoots with google (I think), upgraded, or in less technical terms, messed with it's inner workings and I haven't been able to work it on my own since. I've had someone else posting for me but that got older than old. I loathe having to rely on someone else to do things for me. So today. breakthrough, I am at the good old public library doing this for my self!
Okay, not entirely by myself. The nice lady at the computer next to me has been kind above and beyond anyone's expectations by giving me a short tutorial on how to use a mouse.
I can't guarantee that I'm heading to the library every single day to do this, but I'm here now and it's wonderful to be talking to you.
All these years I should have learned how to use a computer, I guess. Thing is, the webtv/msntv thingie is perfect for everything I want to do. Well, except for this since google went crazy (smile).
That's it for today. They only give you x-amount of time on the library machines and I used up most of mine trying to figure out how to turn it on (smile).
Take care, stay strong and give me a call why don't you so we can talk at greater length.
